Rain developing across inland Australia

A sharp upper trough developing across far western WA on Monday night will cause rain to develop across most of inland Australia during the week. As moisture from the Indian Ocean feeds into this upper trough, patchy rain is expected to develop across the central Pilbara, extending across the Gascoyne, Interior and southwest Kimberley districts of WA during Tuesday. As this upper trough tracks eastwards during the week, it will spread patchy rain across most of the country where a low pressure system may form over the southeast into next weekend. While computer models agree that there will be widespread rain across most of Australia in the coming days, the exact progression of this event and rainfalls totals predicted vary between models.
